Blue Bricks

I am in line with teh last comment. Great bar and staff but do more! How has this place never done live music, it would be packed beyone belief. Perfect atmosphere for it, dont understand. Other than that great food and good people

not enough space for me to write but i will continue with my comments about specials.......... Same people spending half the money, doesnt make sense. I have seen this place do very well in the past, you will only survive if you adapt. As a business owner in town, I want to see this place do well b/c they have a great staff and bar but if they dont put any effort towards it I feel bad for them.

This bar needs to run specials, it is crazy how they do not. Every other bar in downtown does so basically they are resting on their location and their history. Times change, people come and go in a college town and it seems they have lost touch or haven‘t tried to stay in touch. College students dominate this town, not matter who you are you have to adhere to them to stay in business. I have been in town for many years now and have always enjoyed coming in there but it is hard to stay sometimes b/c still in my late 20‘s I like to be around the places where people are and during the week it is not always the case. They need specials to compete, and 75 cents off a $5 beer is not a special for college students or me. i have been there where they told me a special that I didnt know about when I came. How does one expect to know a special if you dont advertise it, basically you are just saying that the people that were planning to come in anyway and spend money now get a chance to spend half of it.

The owner and staff should take a little more pride in their bar! This place could be so much better, if they just put some effort into cleaning and maintance on the building. It seems to me that they are happy just taking your money and not making the extra effort to make a real classy place.

Bathrooms need to be redone, definitely. But I have eaten there plenty and they do have some of the best food downtown. Have you ever seen a kitchen before? They are all the same, so dont take it out on them that you can actually see theirs. I guarantee you would be equally of a negative person if you were exposed to other kitchens. Bar has been around a while, there are things that they should consider updating. Have you seen how big that bar is and how quickly the food comes out of that little kitchen. It frustrates me to hear a person take personal attacks at a locally owned business. I think you would be happier if you stuck to your corporate restaurants that overcharge and under serve. I hear McDonalds has a wonderful dollar menu.

This place is terrible, have you seen the cleanliness. Let‘s just say I would eat off of a barn floor before I ate there. No difference between this place and a barn yard. The floors are nasty, the bathrooms are something you would see at a city park, Gross!! We were going to eat there until my girlfriend saw the kitchen. All I can say is Gross!!

Easily the best all around bar in town. Not a sports bar, not a rock n roll bar, not a nightclub. It just has its own niche. Good Food, Good Drinks, Good people. I agree with the post earlier, bathrooms are terrible adn i think the music is questionable sometimes. Satellite radio is too hit and miss. Both easy fixes.

Moved to town, had some friends come in town. Did the barhopping thing downtown and it was fun, a lot of the bars just resemble each other. It‘s amazing how employees can treat customers without caring what they say. Decided to have dinner Saturday night with the same guys at Blue Bricks. We had a blast, they were packed all night but our waitress was on point the whole time. We sat at a table all night and were able to actually hold a conversation with some good music and some pool playing. Nothing bad to say about this bar, I will be coming back. To be fair, one negative thing. The bathrooms. for the kind of atmosphere they have with a fairly good menu, it would be appreciated if they took some pride in their bathrooms. I know people destroy them but its the cost of doing business and good business and that. Maybe get some more quality products in there. Regardless, different bar that i really appreciate

Good food, courteous waitstaff, nice atmosphere. A nice departure from some of the other downtown area bars!

People‘s opinions are going to change from night to night and mood to mood. Sometimes we all get stuck with a bad server or somebody also having a bad day. It happens. I have been coming to this bar for years and for their body of work, you cant beat them. It is honestly the most laid back and diverse place you can go to in Mankato. If you have ever wanted to have a bar feel like your bar, this is it. The bartenders have been there forever and know basically everyone by name. They dont treat you like a typical bartender would, which is actually refreshing.Yeah, they do not have the best specials around. They could be improved. But it has worked for them. As an overall establishment, Blue Bricks has my vote. Any place I can walk into, hold a conversation and be treated with respect is a place I will come back to.

this is a place where the 30 something year old woman go with fake boobs hoping to be milf‘s....not a thing I want to see when trying to eat a good meal...Blue bricks has good food

food is great but service was not...atleast for me and my friends. I hang out with a lot of different types of people and not being caucasian myself, i see how people react differently to different people. I never had a problem with service when i was with my white friends but one night i went there with my non white friends and we had bad service. the bartender ignored us for a good 10mins and this was on a monday night around 1am...barely nobody there....i guess if you dont want a certain kind of crowd there they really show it...

I absolutely LOVE this place, it‘s a great place to hang out at - and there is always a blend of age groups hanging out there. Plus they have a great selection of beers on tap and great food!

And since they deliver, my co-workers and I frequently order in for lunch-it‘s the best!

Blue bricks has GREAT food! PLUS they deliver! I always tip the delivery people good, not many places actually deliver anymore. Great place to hang out with friends too!

I don‘t know where some of these people have been too, but I have been to Blue Bricks countless times and I have always been served in under 5 minutes (usually under 2, but I am also figuring in the patio uses too). The crowd is mixed and friendly. The hippie crowd generally goes to the Ole, but with the amount of them in Mankato, you are inevitably going to encounter a few no matter where you go! Blue Bricks also has beer on tap that you can‘t find ANYWHERE else in Mankato. I think it is the best casual bar / pub in Mankato!!!

I would dissagree with many of the reviews here. This place looks great but the employees are rude. We didn‘t stay long for this reason alone. It is definately more of a "yuppie" crowd.

Blue Bricks is the best place in the world.........You should have to pay to get in!!!

The food isn‘t great and seems to be going downhill. The service is and always has been consistently poor. The only reason I go there is because the location is handy. If not for the location, the place would have gone out of business a long time ago.

if you don‘t mind smelly hippies, this is the place to be, whether in or outside, good drinks, little waiting, good food.

I always go to Blue Bricks to be surrounded by fun people and a classier atmosphere.

Great bar! Their pizza is amazing (especially the buffalo chicken), the atmosphere is very cozy. It‘s a fun "jazz/blues" type of atmosphere! Great food, great drinks!

They‘ve got couches, the bar, dining tables, and the outside seating. Service is fast and friendly. Delivery and take-out is easy and super fast - not to mention the FREE DELIVERY on their really awesome food!

You gotta try there pitcher specials Wednesday Nights and on Sunday $1 taps with specials on appetizers, I reccomend the Chub sauce

This place not only has a variety of food and quality beers flowing. It has an atmosphere of a feel good, blues playing establishment.
